What is this piece made from?
Every ZEITWORKS piece is made from the original interior of a specific vintage car, or from authorised reproductions of period factory textiles. Each piece is cut and assembled by hand in our studio in Snow Road Station, Ontario.
Is each piece unique?
Heritage pieces are one-of-one — built from the original interior of a single car. When that material is finished, no second piece exists. Signature pieces are made in small batches from authorised reproductions of factory textiles.
Can the piece be repaired or restored?
Yes. We have worked with leather and automotive textiles for nearly twenty years and can advise on care, repair, and restoration. Write to info@zeitworks.ca.
How does shipping and returns work?
Orders are processed within 72 hours and shipped from our Ontario studio. Returns are accepted within 72 hours of receipt, in original condition. Sale items and custom pieces are final sale.

The 928 was the car Porsche developed in the 1970s to replace the 911 — front-engined, water-cooled V8, transaxle layout, the future of the brand by every reasonable measure of the period. It launched in 1977 and won European Car of the Year in 1978, the only sports car ever to do so. The 1987 cars used the 5.0-litre V8 in the S4 specification, with 316 horsepower and the long, fluid Anatole Lapine body that had been left almost untouched for a decade.
The car's most famous on-screen moment came in 1983: Tom Cruise drives a champagne 928 through Joel's father's lake in Risky Business, the line "Porsche. There is no substitute" entering the cultural lexicon. Bill Gates owned one. The 928 became the official car of the 1980s American technology executive — quieter than a 911, faster than a Mercedes 560SEC, and engineered to a standard that Porsche has not entirely matched since.
Porsche built 61,056 928s from 1977 through 1995. The 928 never sold in the volume Porsche projected, and the 911 it was meant to replace outlived it by decades. The interiors — leather over the unique check-pattern wool inserts that defined Porsche grand-touring trim — are now among the more curatorially serious cabins of the period.
